Default axe beastmaster?

Hey-

I was bored, and tired of trying to pass that stupid heart of the shiverpeaks quest on my PvE and decided to randomly create a PvP ranger, and give R/W aa try. My PvP warrior was currently running an axe build- and i had just about no hammer skills so i decided into using an axe would be the best way to start farming faction. This is what i came up with.

Beast mastery: 12+1+1
Axe mastery: 12
Expertise: 3+1 (do i need the +1?)

1. [Disember] (should i replace this? I find myself not using it much halfway through a battle)
2. [Cleave] {E}
3. [Executioners strike]
4. [Brutal strike]
5. [Companion ship]
6. [Comfort animal]
7. [Charm animal]
8. [Res sig]

Starting of with disember for a 20% drop in their health and at the very moment i click it i also do brutal strike for a very small chunk of damage. Then i just wait until cleave or Ex.Strike builds up and then use brutal strike with ex.strike for a nice spike (usually over 100 damage.) This is just about all i do for the entire battle, occasionally using comfort animal, and companionship to revive and heal me and my pet.

I have played this build and it seems to work very well to my style- please leave ideas and comments!

Drop Dismember and Cleave for [eviscerate]. Its far better (assuming u absolutely have to use an axe elite, [Rampage as One] is better, due to IAS.

Also make sure you have an IAS in there somewhere... id go tigers fury since ur running that much beast mastery.

[Companionship] (you spelt it wrong), is a subpar skill... 2 second cast heal for u or ur pet, and doesnt res it. Drop it for something else.

Also needs a snare, or speed boost. I unfortunately dont know any really good ones. [Maiming Strike] might work, except that without a speed boost ull rarely catch a moving foe and then it wont work.

To sum up I would try and get ur bar to look something like this:

[Eviscerate][Executioner's Strike][Optional][Tigers Fury][Brutal Strike][Charm Animal][Comfort Animal][Resurrection Signet]

Optional should be a snare, or speed boost. [Run as One] could be a good option.

I left brutal in there coz you chose it, but i think dropping it for maiming, and bringing run as one could be ur best bet.

Also check pvx, there is/was a Great rated RaO axe build, but it might be gone since they nerfed one of its skills.

if you bring heal as one, you'll free up a slot for other axe skill, but all non-elite.

[heal as one] [Swift Chop] [Keen Chop][Furious Axe] [lightning reflexes] [charm animal] [poisonous bite] [res sig] how that look?

[dismember][disrupting chop][agonizing chop][Rampage as one][optional][charm animal][comfort animal][resurrection signet]

The optional should be Bull's Strike, Antidote signet or Axe rake.
That used to be a common build untill izzy nerfed D-lunge, but if u replace d-lunge with another nice skill, the bar still works great.

If you want more suvivability
[dismember][axe rake][Heal as one][antidote signet][apply poison][charm animal][resurrection signet][lightning reflexes]
its badly ordered - but if u like it im sure you could fix it up.
You could drop antitode signet or Lightning reflexes for another attack skill if wanted.

Actually running axe allows the option for more interupts, with disable (disruping chop, agonizing, and bringing the pet interupt as well). Hammer can knocklock but doesnt have as much damage, or the disabling skills.

Knockdown = Interupt + they cant heal while knockdown so bash away

if you want to interupt please stick with a bow

thanks,

updated build: (untested)

14 Beast mastery
12 Axe mastery
4 Expertise

[eviscerate]
[axe rake]
[executioner's strike]
[brutal strike]
[tiger's fury]
[comfort animal]
[charm animal]
[resurrection signet]

Il swap axe rake for [run as one] after giving axe rake a try- rampage as one is a nice skull but takes up too much energy, as im using [brutal strike] regulary on foes under 50% health. Also, i currently have +1 expertise with a minor rune, but is this worth it? it dosn't seem to make a diference with that 4% less energy?

Yes, you hit a breakpoint with 4 that you miss with 3. At 4 expertise skills cost 100% - 4*4% = 84%, which is rounded to 8 for 10E skills.
